Living in Fort Collins, Colorado, I spend my days practicing yoga, photographing my surroundings, challenging the best recipes, writing what I know, and dreaming of my next get away. I write because I heard I had a knack for it. My cooking improves day by day. But, my passion for travel moves me forward. Be it a day out snowboarding or a five month trek through the Appalachian Mountains, sensing new surroundings feeds my soul.
I completed my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in October 2013 and have been missing it ever since. I struggle with the idea of settling for too long. Lucky for me, I am in love with a man the same way. Ryan and I are inseparable. Hiking the trail for five months and 22 days strengthened our already solid relationship. We might not be the nomads we once were on the trail but Colorado isn’t a bad place to rest. The snow inspires me and always brings me wandering with my camera.
I dream of the day when all my belongings can fit in a backpack again. When I’m not traveling, the kitchen is my place to roam. I love ingredients. I search for the web for the perfect recipes but I never find anything better than with my own alterations. I cook with health in mind. I love the versatility of vegetables. Caramelized to perfection, baked in a cake, or raw and crisp, vegetables are always my secret ingredient.
To appease my inner dreamer, I run a vintage clothing store on Etsy. Through my small business, I can be a 70’s diva or a 90’s kid. Funky, groovy, retro, or grunge, I love our history’s style. Experience my dizzy dream at DizzyDreamerVintage.etsy.com or on Instagram @dizzydreamervintage. You will find clothes from the 60’s to the 90’s for both men and women.
I try to document my life through writing. Writing is my niche, my art, my love. I not only write for my personal blog but a few other blogs. Life as a freelance writer is wonderful and adventurous and stressful all at the same time. I have mastered the skill of personal time management and discovered the balance between pleasure and work.
Yoga is a daily practice for me. I am currently working my way through the primary series of Ashtanga yoga. I improve every day. I push my body and mind. I hope to reach to the flexibility and balance I once had. For now, I honor my body as I discover my spirit.
Focus and motivation may seem crucial to a happy life. However, flexibility is required to enjoy the moments in between. My mind stays positive as I daydream upon my next adventures. I love to have flexibility in life to go in any direction.
